Name:Kono Kalakaua
Location:Honolulu, Hawaii, United States

Officer Kono Kalakaua

At fifteen years old, Kono's entire world was defined by surfing and where it was going to take her. She was signed to the Coral Prince Team, where she was trained with people of all ages, and was all but adopted by the CEO, Ian Adams. The three years surfing pro were some of the very best of her life, before she blew out her knee middle of riding one day. While he could have let her go, Ian continued to care for her: paid for her surgeries, rehab, everything, even though she would never compete again.

It was Earth, and the Sun, and the Sky, and the Water, and the Heart.
It was everything and he passed that on to his surfers. And it made us better people.

The Job

The lesson to stick by family through thick and thin never abandoned her, and Kono paid it forward to her cousin, Chin Ho Kelly, when he was dismissed from The Hononlulu Police Department under accusations of corruption and the theft of $200,000. She stuck by him and still does, through all the fall out, both with the department and in their family, made up of several other HPD officers. She, also, decided to follow in his footsteps to become a cop, herself. This bond, also, led to her introduction into the Five-0 Task force when it began.

The Kid was devastated. Had to reinvent herself and decided to wear a badge.

About Kono

Kono, standing 5'9" with brown hair and brown eyes, is old blood, native Hawiian. She's lithe from constant surfing, but don't let it fool you: she's highly skilled in martial arts and has a short temper with mean right cross at times. She's, also, usually dressed very casually, out of uniform, thanks to her placement on the Five-0 Task Force. Very much a rookie, Kono is still learning more and more about the duties of being a cop from all of her team.

She doesn't easily forgive herself, and she is the only one who calls Steve Mcgarrett "Boss" with serious frequency. She is often assigned undercover work, and as adept at using all the technology of her position as she is at dealing with children. Kono is usually armed with a late model Smith & Wesson 3913 "Ladysmith" with interchanged black grips (which later changes to a M&P). She has a Kel-Tec PF-9 gifted to her by her Boss at her graduation, and is, also, deeply fond of several larger rifles, for close quarters and long distance shooting.

A ceremony doesn't make a cop. Doing the job makes a cop. Right?

Neither Officer Kono Kalakaua nor Grace Park belong to me. The first belongs to Leonard Freeman and CBS, and the second belongs to herself. I just moonlight in the glory of both for playing in Hawaii Five-0. This journal is being used for roleplay. No infringement is intended and no profit is being made.
